High School Horrors!
As some of you might know, I like to write, mainly fantasy stories! I write a lot of different ones, but at the moment I am focusing on one certain project, called High School Horrors, which I started in 2009. It's currently made up of 23 'parts' and is still going. The reason it is in parts is because I write as I go along and upload a bit and a bit each time, on deviant art! Now, like most things in my life at the moment, HSH took a break for a couple of months, just like my blog and drawing and every thing else. But it is now BACK and I have promised myself to focus on it more! I am writing this blog entry to introduce you to the story a bit and just to see if any of you are willing to give a bit of time reading an amateurs work! Since it's split into parts, you don't have to read it all in one go, but a bit at a time!
High School Horrors is about a group of four friends who end up at a weird school at aged 18. Here they learn the truth about the world, and themselves; magic is real and they are very much part of it. Several different races live on the planet, hidden as humans, and a whole need world, an alternate world, is accessible to those who know about it. Unfortunately, that's not the only thing new to our heroes. A terrible enemy, soldiers made of pure darkness, invisible evils and even the undead are what they have to fight against in a tale of fantasy, magic, love and discovering who you really are. And sometimes, that is not a good thing.
The official website for High School Horrors is here: http://highschoolhorrors.deviantart.com/
But to start reading straight away, click part 1 here and use the arrow keys at the top of the page to carry on going! http://highschoolhorrors.deviantart.com/gallery/25173896
If you want updates on High School Horrors, there IS a Facebook page, to be found here: https://www.facebook.com/HighSchoolHorrors
Also, I would LOVE to hear feedback from those who do read, so feel free to leave a comment here, on Deviant Art or on the facebook page!! I love all comments, as I hardly ever get any to do with my writing!
Do let me know what you think! This project is my creative baby!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution short review
11 years after the original, the third game in the series (if you are part of the fandom, you will know why I have not covered Invisible War. If you aren't, then don't worry, you are not missing much, big disappointment), a 'prequel' to the original, Human Revolution is set to be released in late August. Fans of the series have been waiting for this since the horror of Invisible War came out, waiting and praying it will live up to the 8 year expectations!
Having been pushing back the release date since last year, Square and Eidos have finally confirmed the dates, but I am not here to talk about that. Earlier this year, a leak was 'accidently' let out onto the internet. There has been speculation that this short bit of game play was leaked on purpose so the developers and publishers could get feed back pre-game from the public, and (hopefully) improve any bugs us sneaky internet users found while playing it!
Having played through the game a little, I must say, I am impressed. The graphics are stunning, the characters believable, the movement in game wonderful (once you have set your settings correctly ;) ) and the fighting similar to the original. In the beginning 'tutorial' style part of the game, you get to learn a bit about what is going on in the world of HR. After a while, you will enter the opportunity to fight it out with terrorists, where you get your first real taste of battle!
The fighting harks back to the original idea of FPS, the ability to sneak round walls and crouch behind islands inside labs to avoid your enemies or take them out without them seeing you. Bear in mind this beginning bit, I would class as a 'Tutorial' (like in the original where you had a choice to do it or not, here you don't get a choice but I think that's okay, especially for those who haven't played the original, it lets you get used to the controls a bit)
During the fighting, there is an unfortunate incident where the character you play (Mister Adam Jensen) has to undertake a dramatic change in his being. He becomes Augementated. Now things get fun.
Your first proper mission is to take out a terrorist organisation and recover a stolen item within a lab that belongs to the company you work with. After walking around the HQ (which is explorable so please do look around before heading straight where you need to and talk to people!) and being told your mission, you will be whisked away by helicopter to your missions locations. Don't get distracted like me and the beau did with the remote controlled explosive 'packets' (they look like packets of crisps). I do suggest you try throwing them at people and seeing what happens a couple of times though ;)
During the flight will get the opportunity to choose whether you want to do the mission with force or merely disable your foes (whether you kill them or just knock them out). This choice will decide which weapon will become available to you and offered to you for the mission(though you will get other weapons as well during the mission any ways). For example, choose the sneaky lethal route and you will probably get a sniper. Choose the disabling route, you will get a stun gun.
As per usual in Deus Ex, you can choose whether to go in guns blazing or sneak! At this moment in time you have limited augmentations, you can't upgrade them, so don't worry about it right now. If you do choose the sneaky route, I suggest looking UP. Boxes can be climbed. Things can be hid behind. Always check how many doors are in a room. When you enter a particularly full room of terrorist, don't accidently stun one of them in full view of his buddy if you do not wish to get owned in the face by said room full of terrorist.
I only play the sneaky non fatal way if I can help it, so I cannot give you that much insight on the full on IMGOINGTOKILLEVERYONEPOINTBLANKINTHEFAYCE route. But I assume you must always check your ammo and your health and take dodging and places to dive behind in consideration unless you want to die.
What strikes me as particular fun is when Adam goes into third person view (the game is set as first person) This is often when you are 'stuck', as I like to call it, to a wall or lab island, or, when you sneak up behind someone and perform a melee attack (which are awesome despite the early on groans of this feature. Its actually quite cool). If you do like the sneaky route, there is hacking (YAY) and I suggest you USE IT. Hacking cameras off is very much harking back to the first game and you can feel a little bit of the love you had for the original, that might of been eradicated due to IW, seeping back into your bones.
I don't want to give too much away so I wont say much more, but just conclude. I LOVED this unofficial demo. It has the feel of the original Deus Ex with gorgeous graphics and the feel of a whole new adventure all mixed into one. I am truly looking forward to the game coming out in the future and hope to purchase it some time!
One more note before I go, I would say BUY IT ON PC, PLEASE I IMPLORE YOU. I am sure it will do well on consoles, but if you truly want the feel of a proper Deus Ex game PLAY IT ON THE PC, with key board and mouse, just like it was suppose to be!
I give this demo a 9/10 (the beginning tutorial bit was a bit linear)

My Favourite Songs at the moment
Hello folks! Time for a new blog post, this one about my favourite songs of the moment! I don't really latch onto a specific artist or group/band, I rather appreciate the individual songs!! And these are a couple songs that I am appreciating at the moment:
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes ~
I adore this song, as its so sad and full of emotion, and I love songs that can inspire me to write or draw. This song reminds me of my characters from High School Horrors, Katie and Dae. This is mainly Dae's song, and I can imagine perfectly events happening to this. Fred Dursts gravelly voice is perfect for this song, and the acoustic feel makes it a good song for night time too.
Silent Hill 4 - Room of Angel ~
This song is from a horror game, yet it isn't exactly terrifying at first thought. But. The quite singing, the pulsing that sounds like a heart beat, the gloomy piano, the surreal music all make up for a quite creepy song. Listen closely to the lyrics and you will find the emotion in them to go with the music. This is another of my bedtime favourites, as its so soft, but it is truly one of my favourite songs from a game.
Michael Andrews and Gary Jules - Mad World ~
As you can tell, I am into quite depressing songs, ehehe! But even when I am happy I like them and they do not depress me, just make me feel calm. This is a beautiful song with the lull of the piano and the beautiful voice of the singer melting through you and calming you.
Piano Tune ~
(this is a shortened version) This must be one of my favourite Dubstep songs. The contrast between the typical dubstep music and sounds comapared with the beauty of the almost sinister sounding piano tune makes this a brilliant mix, and also very good for a fight scene ;)
Bladerunner OS - Rachel's Song ~
A hauntingly beautiful song from an under appreciated film. Rachel's Song combines haunting singing with the tinkling of piano keys that almost sound like rain drops and a dash of music that sounds like magic. Perfect if you want to lay in bed and read, or even to send you off to sleep
Ed Sheeran - The A Team ~
A beautifully sad acoustic guitar song. Ed's voice is lulling and soft, the guitar relaxed, yet the topic of the song hits you heard. If you feel a bit teary, and have a over active imagination, then I don't recommended listening to this, as it may make you cry. One of those songs where you have to properly listen to the lyrics to understand the song. Brilliant.
And thats a few of the songs I love at the moment, what do you think of them? What are your favourite songs of the moment?

I am here to recommend some games you should play (if you haven't already) on PC!! These are my top favourite PC games and I think everyone should at least try em, you never know, you might find a new fave!!
WARNING: Some of these games might not be suitable for people under the age of 18, please check with your local game store for the ages!
Fable: The Lost Chapters
The pioneering, comedy action RPG, the original!! If you have played the other two on Xbox, I highly suggest you go play this as it eats up 2 and 3 and poops all over their graves!! Fable 3 is practically linear in comparison! It scored an 8.6 on GS and a 8.7 on IGN
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall
The Longest Journey, if you haven't heard of it, is one of the best point and click adventure games out there. EVER. Scoring a epic 9.3 on Gamespot and IGN, you KNOW this game is gonna be good. You go between worlds, the real future world and a fantasy land, solving puzzles and looking for clues to what the hoinkey is going on!
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (Warning: Game may not be suitable for minors)
Like Action RPGs? Like Vampires? Like games where you can interact richly with the vast world? Then go play this game. GO, DON'T TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT ME, JUST GO!! GS score of 7.7(User score of 8.7 I may add) and IGN of 8.4. Seriously, stop reading and just go get this NOW....but wait one moment, cause the next one is....
DEUS EX (Warning: Game may not be suitable for minors)
OMG SON, IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS, WELL, THEN, GOOD GOD. GO, JUST DON'T SPEAK, JUST GO, GO BUY IT, PLAY IT, SQUEAL OVER IT (then cry when the sequel is soooo bad. Don't go there, just don't. Please let Deus Ex:HR be good) YOU CAN KILL ZEE BAD GUYS THEN CARRY THEM WITH YOU. SO MUCH FUN. Fully immersible world and with a 9.4 and Editors pick on IGN and a 9.1 user score on GS, omg son, you know thats gonna be good GOOOOOOOOOOOO
And finally....HALF. LIFE. 2 (Warning: Game may not be suitable for minors)
Yes yes, Half Life was awesome, but Half Life 2 just eats it up, chews it and then spits it back out a again. With the new Source Engine, Half Life 2 bought to PC games sweet sweet FP gaming. I don't think this is a great follow up to one of the greatest PC games of all time, I think it IS one of the greatest PC games of all time. 9 POINT 7 PEOPLE. On IGN, Editors Choice! GS gave it an equally respectable 9.2, which should mean GO PLAY IT NOW IF YOU HAVENT (omg son, where ya been?)
And thus ends this weeks recommendations from me of PC games you SHOULD OF PLAYED.
Love to your mothers
